Policy Positions

I have also heard that Sierra College plans to push forward a Bond Measure for $350 million.  I believe Sierra College has become a bad neighbor and has demonstrated poor management.  The recent machinations to sell off property to develop in our neighborhood without sufficient road improvements is a major hit on my neighborhood and removes habitat.  Secondly, the use of expensive remote facilities in Roseville for classes instead of expanding the existing campus with those funds is a tremendous dis-service to students and staff.  It is impossible to transit between the locations for for classes.  I attended a governing board meeting with a group of my neighbors and we were rediculed by at least one board member for wanting input into their plans near our neighborhood.  I do not support giving the current team any additional funds.  No on Measure E.

Did I say, I hate the traffic circles.  What knuckle-head thought these were a good idea?  They abandon cyclists to completing with cars and are a hazard.  I heard Ricky (our city manager) at last years' state of the city, explain that they used grant funds for these and so it was OK.  Miss using tax money is never OK.  Oh and did you hear, he wants to add one at Rocklin Road and Pacific?

I hate the traffic circles on Rocklin Road.  They are a tragic misadventure and misuse of taxpayer money.

If there is a vacancy on the City Council, the people should pick who sits on the council, not the current council members.  Two of the five members of the council were picked by the council members through a process where they picked like minded “friends”.

The city under this city council's leadership has miss-spent our money.  The new park (Quarry Park) was budgeted at $3M originally and has risen to over $9M.  This on the heels of buying a golf course for $6M that they were offered for $2.5M a few years earlier, when it was still a working golf course.  Maybe the surprise departure of the former city manager, comes on the heels of the council realizing they had been hoodwinked….  Instead of being open to us, the cabal is trying to keep this all quiet, as they try to get past the upcoming elections.  One of the council people, assured me in writing, that the numbers all worked when I question how the economics of these decisions could be balance and responsible.
